Q: are people who drive SUV's the new age volvo drivers?
A: Does that make Volvo SUV drivers the avante garde drivers of our age?
Volvos are built to protect the passengers through the utilization of innovative safety features. American SUV's simply put more material around the passengers, nothing innovative there...
Q: which is a better suv to buy? volvo or bmw x5 looking for safety, reliability etc.?
A: they are both nice and have good features but i would go for the x5
Q: What's the best deals for suv crossovers right now?
We are looking to buy an suv right now. We're looking at the honda pilot, cr-v, mazda cx-9, gmc acadia, volvo xc90, and vw toregue etc. We want to pay cash, and want to buy used but I heard some of the newer cars are a better deal.
Which is the best car with the best deal?
A: the best deals are from the manufacturers hurting the most in this damned economy...........that would be either GM or Chrysler/Dodge made vehicles.........
Q: Who else loves that commercial where a dude locks in a retarded girl inside a SUV?
You know, the one where some retarded girl is talking about who knows what, and the dad doesn't wanna listen to her, so he locks her in and does away. She was stuff like "and I don't know what it is..." I think it was a Volvo SUV.
A: I looooooooove that commercial!!!!!!
Q: Which is the best 4 x 4 vehicle for use in Ireland and the UK?
1. The Russian GAZ "2975-Tiger"
2. The Russian UAZ "2760" with high plastic roof
3. The British Defender/ 110 Double Cab Pickup
4. The British Defender/110 Station Wagon
5. The British Defender/90 Station Wagon
6. The Volvo SUV
7. The Lincoln Navigator
And why would it be the most suited for use in Ireland and the UK over the rest?
Price is not a problem to factor into your answers.
Thank you for your continued support.
A: LR 90 station wagon. Easiest to get repairs and parts in a hurry, and won't get stuck on a steep hump like the 110 (I've done that) with wheels in the air both sides. Lots of LR enthusiastic garages to help you out. Also doesn't lose value with a few dents in. I am presuming you do mean to use it offroad? otherwise get a Ford Escort.
Q: Why is the Volvo 240 the best car ever created?
I mean it's just the right size. It's rear wheel drive, It's extremely safe in an accident and it's built like a tank with such quality that even a 15-20 year old one that is taken care of is practically like new.
How did they do it? Achieve automotive perfection, I mean? And why would anybody drive anything else? Need to go fast, get a turbo 240. Want an SUV? A 240 wagon holds just as much. Need high gas mileage? Get a 240 diesel. What more do you need in life?
A: I love your enthusiasm, but when you read up, you'll discover that the 240 only became pretty good as it matured. Early ones were very rust prone and had cooling-, electrical, and head gasket problems. Also, their rear axle has been frowned upon by the motor press even when they came out.
I agree that the 240 is a great car, but I'd have to say the best car ever built is probably the 1985-1994 Mercedes E-Class.
Q: Are Democrats capable of putting down the human shields and answering the question?
Who deserves government-subsidized health insurance?
What if I told you I drove these three cars
A Volvo SUV…
A GMC Suburban…
And a nice, big Ford F250 Pickup work truck…
And what if I told you, further, that I owned a large home and commercial property worth at least $400,000 in total–property for which I paid a total of $215,000?
And what if I told you, in addition, that I was resourceful enough to cobble together financing (through scholarships and other means) for private school education for four children?
And what if I told you that neither I nor my spouse were employed full-time–one of us working “intermittently” and the other “part-time”?
Would you consider my family “exactly the kind” and “precisely the type” of family that should benefit from S-CHIP, the government-subsidized health insurance program intended for the “working poor?”
Or will they be honest and say its all about giving everyone free healthcare not just "for the children"
by the way Jeff M is right this is the exact situation the frosts are in. too funny
FYI, Golden Rule Insurance currently offers a plan for a healthy Baltimore family of 6 for $190 to $423 per month depending on the plan. Once again, of course, the Left will decry the high cost of insurance for consumers trying to get it after a catastrophic event.
Once again, they will ignore the fundamental
concept of how insurance is supposed to work. :
If you don’t buy it before you need it, you shouldn’t be shocked if it’s difficult to impossible to get after you need it.
A: It's more than just being about health-care for everyone.
It's about taking that first painful step, using 'the children' as a tool to create a monstrous bureaucracy to administer it.
Once those logistics are in place, every step toward socialism in the other sectors will seem natural.
It's a certainty. There will be one agency after another tasked to support the health care system and they will all be caught in the same bureaucratic web.
The bills to support it all will come incrementally as add ons to other bills 'For the Children'. We won't even see it coming.
Hillary has said it in clear terms.
She said her mistake the first time is that she tried to do too much all at once. This time she will spoon feed it to us so we don't gag but it will be the same damned thing she tried to choke us all with the last time.
Q: Can you do the fly to Sweden and pick up your car Volvo deal with BMW?
Some friends of mine want a fuel efficient 7 seat SUV. I recommended the Diesel BMW X5, but they had already researched that and it isn't sold in the US. Would it be possible for them to get a ferry or some similar-like deal?
Thanks
A: all of the people below me are wrong.
yes you can do this. its called EUROPEAN DELIVERY.
and you can actually save some money on the price of your car. yes it can be cheaper. because when you do bring it to the u.s., you have already driven it around so its now a used car. and used cars are taxed less upon import.
and the people below me are stupid to think it wont pass emissions because when you order the car, they will build it to north american standards.
but just so you're aware, the X5 only has 5 seats.
and they make a 3.0 liter, 6 cyl. model of the X5 and it is quite fuel efficient compared to the V8 model.
Q: Best Luxury SUV?
What in your opinion is the best used luxury suv?Like the Volvo xc90 or the Acura MDX,something like that.
I already have a car that gets good mpg but I need a SUV to pull my boat and camper which don't weigh a whole lot but they weigh to much for my car to pull.
A: I still vote for the MDX. The XC90 hasn't gotten the reliability ratings like the other Volvo models have. If you do decide to get the it, take a mechanic with you or take the car in yourself. Pay special attention to the transmission. Do a Carfax background check first and, again, watch out for any transmission problems. It's a nice enough car but for the money, you can do better. Seriously, get an MDX and you won't regret the decision.
Q: What is the appeal of SUV's? They are gas guzzling, slow, poor performing vehicles.?
I will never understand this so I am looking for answers here. I live in a state where there isn't a single mountain- Florida. And yet there is a HUGE percentage of SUV's on the road. Often with only one person in the vehicle that is commuting to some office. These vehicles are bulky and are almost impossible to see around. And to make matters worse, almost ALL of them in Florida have tinted windows. Makes for a dangerous situation on the road when you try to make a left turn. They perform poorly on performance tests compared to cars and are prone to rollovers. They guzzle huge amounts of gas. Even if you are wealthy, why would you want to donate so much money to Exxon? And lastly, if you have one for issues of space, why wouldn't you go with a van? It would be cheaper and you would have the same amount of space. I will never understand this trend. Even the yuppie SAAB/ Volvo trend of the 1980's was more appealing than this! At least those vehicles perform well and are practical.
A: The appeal of SUV's is that they are very profitable for the car makers to sell. THink about this...A Full size chevy pickup costs $20,000 to buy. However if you extend the roofline to the back of the vehicle add a couple doors, seats and carpet you can sell it for over $40,000. it becomes a Suburban/Tahoe. See the picture? This is why HUGE advertising budgets are used to convince people that this is a 'cool' vehicle. So...in essence people who are driving SUV's are just stupid people who subconsciously fell for the slick marketing tactics of the car companies. Lets call them what they REALLY are. Station Wagons. The SUV is the modern Station Wagon of the 70s bolted to a truck frame to make it handle crappy and roll over easily killing its occupants and anyone who gets in the way. Gives new meaning to Stupid Useless Vehicle...
Q: Sleeping in a Volvo V70 or XC90?
Hi all,
I think of renting a car for a trip through Sweden. Now, has any of you got experience or heard of whether it's possible to actually sleep in a Volvo V70 wagon or in the XC90 SUV? We are 2 people, both around 5'10'' tall.
Thanks for your help!
A: Please read this before you choose! The V70 and the XC70 and the XC90 all have seats that fold flat, but the XC90's don't fold REALLY flat and they rest cushion on cushion when they do. There is also a 5-inch by 6 inch opening that will always be there if you choose a 7-seater. This will be totally annoying! The V70 and XC70 seats fold differently and are full-flat and rigidly-supported so they don't sink down. Plus, the way they fold down, there is virtually no seam or opening to cause discomfort. The V70 is a little tighter in space inside than the XC70, so (and because I've done it and speak with experience) choose the XC70. It has all the capabilities of the XC90 (AWD, more room, more comfortable to drive, etc.) but simply more room for sleeping than the V70.
It's actually a quite nice sleep.
Have fun! Drive Safe!
Q: What is the best suv?
In your opinion which one of these are the better SUV?
2004 GMC YUKON XL DENALI
2004 Cadillac Escalade
2005 VOLVO XC 90
2005 Acura MDX
2004 Lexus RX330
2004 Cadillac SRX
I personally like the Volvo XC 90 better than any because of better mpg
A: Volvo
Q: Good SUV for mom and kids?
Hi there, I would just like to know what SUV you think would be a good one for a mom with three kids? ( 2 years, 5 years and one one way!). I don't want anything super huge like a suburban, just something nice looking and reliable. I like the quality and handling of German and Japanese cars. I need an SUV as well because I am going to be going into the antique business and need something I can haul a lot of stuff around when the kids are not in the car. I am going to be buying preowned.
Here is my list:
BMW X5 ( though a little pricey and a little small for my needs)
Volvo XC90 ( Love this one, not overpriced either)
Acura MDX ( great price on used ones, nice quality too)
Mercedes ML350 ( ok, but not enough room)
A: I'd go either with the Acura MDX or the Volvo
Q: What's a great SUV to buy?
I'm looking into buying an SUV. I really like the Chevy Tahoe, however, I heard it's a huge gas chuggler. Is that true?
I also like the Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder and Volvo XC90.
I'm looking for something not too expensive, but not compact, midsize to large. What's a good SUV that gets good gas milage?
Thanks!
A: yep, the Tahoe and the Explorer are a bit of gas guzzlers. we unfortunately do not have the Pathfinder here. The XC90 is a great SUV, if somewhat lacking in visual appeal. if it has a diesel motor on it, then go for it! really great car.
others you might wanna look at are the Toyota Highlander Hybrid (if you're okay with getting a hybrid), it gets about 12km/L in the city (divide by 0.42 for mpg) or the diesel Hyundai Veracruz.
Q: What qualifies as a home office for tax deduction purposes? I live in a 1 bedroom apartment though??
So, since I live in a 1 bedroom apartment, I do not have a room or office that I can exclusively use for my business. I do however, have a section of the apartment that I exclusively use. Does this count?
I am planning on meeting with a CPA to discuss, but wanted some knowledgable guidance before going in? I'm sure there is something that protects someone like me in the tax code...or maybe not. If so, maybe it's worth it to get into a 2 br apartment. Buying is not an option for me right now. So please, keep your responses to the apartment living situation.
Also, is the SUV tax break as sweet as it sounds. For a 40K Volvo XC-90, I'm calcuating 28,000 in write-offs the first year or more (though I guess it depends on usage and this is one of the reason where my home office write off comes in). And believe me, I own my own biz and derive 60% of my income from it.
Thanks!
A: http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc509.html
IRS Business Use of Home - Yes I will say it will qualify but as the one person stated will be based on percentages. but read this first.
SUV - perhaps you refer to Section 179 - It may seem like it.
check out http://www.irs.gov and search for this one. You will find it or see pub. 954 as well.
You may take depreciation or actual expenses on auto's. Some are subject to Limitations as with Luxruy auto limits, if leased there are lease exclusions etc. With Deprection is taken you may also take parking tolls for example. Expenses include fuel and oil, maintenance, etc. Not any type of depreciation.
Apt. is not qualfifying for depreciation unless you own and then only at rates that your percentage of use is qualfifying for. Dont' expect huge wrte-off for business use of home.
Expenses will depend on many factors. Are they excessed will they be frowned on by revenue. Miles are very much audited things so gooooooooood records. Same with meals and otherwise.
Is it is unreimbused employee business expenses etc. certain income limitations and otherwise apply. Research well or pay the piper later. You gave the best advice. I am going to talk to an accounting firm. Kudos.
Yes we are an accounting firm.
Good luck.
