Q: 2001 kia sportage alternator?
does anyone know what kind of alternator goes in my 2001 kia sportage ?
A: Go to Autozone,Napa, etc i'm sure they could help you out
Q: Can anyone tell me where the fuse for the Engine light is on a 2001 Kia Sportage?
Had all kinds of work done on this car and still cant pass inspection because of this light..ty
A: first of all it is highly illegal to do that, secondly there is no fuse for just the engine light, you would have to kill the whole dash light system.
the only way is to take the dash apart and remove the check engine light bulb. But if there is a fault in the car its computer system will register that fault code. If it is found that you removed the bulb, you are liable and would have to refund the money back and possibly can face charges depending on the state.
your best bet is to take the car to a person who specalizes on kias to try to find the problem. probably cost less in the long run anyway
Q: Would you buy a 2001 Kia Sportage?
I'm getting a 2001 Kia Sportage, and I'm 16. its my first car.
Do you think its right just for a first car?
A: Yes.
I would buy one if I wanted an SUV.
The Kia Sportage is not known for having any reliability problems. It is a good car, cheap to fix, good on gas for an SUV, and practical.
Q: Where on line can I find the maintenance manual and specs on a 2001 KIA Sportage 2.0L engine?
A: Auto Zone has on-line manuals for free!!!
Q: my air conditioning belt on my 2001 kia sportage keeps breaking within hours of a replacement. any ideas?
we have replaced the fan, which was thought to be the original cause for the breakage, but now the cause is unknown, and I am not sure if i even needed a new fan now? what else could be the problem? please help...
A: Something's not aligned properly or is too tight. Have these repairs been done by a Kia dealership?
Q: Squeeling noise in 2001 Kia when using a/c or defroster?
When we have the defroster on, the car squeals. I think it may be related to the a/c, because whenever you have the defroster on- the a/c automatically goes on as well (always been like this). But any ideas of why? It's like 10-20 degrees in the daytime here. Not sure if it's a cold weather thing. Any ideas? Doesn't squeal if the heat is on
A: It's probably the belt which runs your AC Compressor. IT either needs adjusting or, since the car is 8 years old, replacing.
Q: Where are the spark plugs located on the 2001 KIA Sportage?
A: under the hood.
Q: Where is the lower side port on a 2001 Kia Spehia?
A: on the suction line. the larger line coming from the firewall area.
Q: My 2001 Kia Rio timing belt broke and it may have damaged the engine. I have only 39,000 miles on it.?
What is the phone number or e-mail to get a new motor?
A: I own a shop, and you are 100% correct in thinking it may have damaged the engine. I have seen first hand, an engine totally destroyed in the same fashion as your situation. Getting a new engine may turn out to be a bit tougher than you bargained for. They may want to fix the engine you have, or claim abuse caused the engine to go out. I would read my warranty, and determine what it covers, and doesn't cover. Also; there should be a contact number on the warranty. If not, then you will have to contact the nearest dealer, and see what they say. It's odd that when a company wants your money, they make it easy to contact them, but as soon as you have an issue, you get ran in a circle trying to find out who & where to go to make a claim.
A timing belt should last a lot longer than yours did. Check your owners manual to confirm you did in fact keep the service up to date, and I'm sure they will want to do everything they can to get out of replacing your engine. Since the local dealer will be the one that has to handle your claim, you must start by contacting them first, and they should tell you one way or the other. They may just fix it without any problem, but don't count on it. They can be very hard to deal with, and in most cases not very supportive when it comes to making good on the warranty. Let's hope this isn't the case.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!
Q: my 2001 kia sportage just died while driving yesterday?
yesterday while driving home doing 55 mph my kia just spluddered out and died without any warning so i knew i forgot to get gas assumed it was out and had a friend bring gas but still would not start acted like it was gonna but never kicked over. is it my timing belt? or my fuel pump? or (hopefully) my fuel filter? please help
A: If it was the timing belt, it wouldn't "almost" start.
Clogged fuel filter ? maybe, but usually there would be a bypass.
Fuel pump is more likely, especially if you like to run your tank dry.
Q: how to install a fuel pump for a 2001 kia sportage 4x4?
i do know that i have a door under the passager back seat for the fuel pump i just need to know how to put one in correctly after the old is out
A: Remove the fuel tank, take the old one out, put the new one in, & reinstall the tank.. or bring it to upstate NY & ask me to do it for you... :P
